About the Job :
Our client, one of the world's largest gold mining companies with the strongest production growth profile among all major gold companies, is a Canadian based company which employs more than 9,000 people worldwide. Our client is currently seeking a Ventilation Technician.
The Position
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the existing ventilation system as well as assist in ongoing and future ventilation designs. In keeping with the company policy and government regulations, the ventilation monitoring will involve measuring and documentation of airflow, and environmental conditions. Other responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
• Identifying and providing instruction for corrective action as required, maintaining accurate ventilation plans and providing occasional training on ventilation related topics.
• Assisting in providing a safe and healthy mine working environment through monitoring and ensuring maintenance of the mine ventilation, egress and emergency plans and other mine services.
• The position will also be required to input ventilation and mine operational data and other administrative functions and projects as required.
The role is based at our client’s gold mine in Northern Ontario which offers excellent medical facilities as well as primary and secondary schools. The natural environment of beautiful lakes and forests lead to great recreational fishing, hunting, camping, and hiking. The public beaches are a great attraction to families as well as our 18-hole golf course and indoor arena. Groomed snowmobile trails are prevalent throughout the area. The Municipality is a friendly, family oriented community.

Profile of Ideal Candidate :
The Candidate
To succeed in this role the person will have demonstrated experience in an underground mining environment with experience in the theory of mine ventilation and underground mining in general as well as mine safety.
The ideal candidate will have a suitable Technical Degree and Underground Mining Experience. A solid knowledge of AutoCAD and Windows based software would be an asset.
