Shell Downstream encompasses all the activities necessary to transform crude oil into petroleum products and petrochemicals, and deliver them around the world.
Our Downstream businesses refine, supply, trade and ship crude oil worldwide, and manufacture, transport and market fuels, lubricants, bitumen, LPG and bulk petrochemicals for domestic, transportation and industrial use. Altogether, the organisation employs some 80,000 people.

Introducing these products to the market and giving technical advice on their handling and application is a vital part of our work, as is our desire to prove that Shell is a reliable provider of innovative solutions.
We're currently looking to recruit an Application Manager to join us in either the Czech Republic or Poland.
Responsibilities :
As Application Manager, you'll provide sales, CSCs and marketing support to the bitumen business in the Czech Republic and other East European countries. In detail, we'll expect you to:
* Provide technical support in the areas of bitumen and specialties applications, formulations, quality and HSSE
* Provide appropriate product assurance and monitor support at Shell Bitumen laboratories
* Manage and determine the case of complaints associated with product quality and applications
* Be responsible for the regular training of sales staff to ensure a high level of understanding and knowledge of our product quality
* Provide a definition and description of projects that are connected with product development and optimisation
* Work closely with commercial colleagues, establishing and conducting technical cooperation with our major customers
* Write articles and papers for technical journals and brochures and technical information for our customers
* Visit selected customers to define and support development of projects based on our specialties
* Regularly exchange information with contractors, advisors and opinion-formers involved in road building to enable early product placement of Shell Bitumen specialties in relevant publications
* Ensure that Shell Bitumen is 'front-of-mind' for any road building projects
* Provide quality control of all Bitumen products in the markets concerned by collecting and checking laboratory data
* Liaise with refineries. |

Profile of Ideal Candidate :

Required Skills/Experience: Requirements :
With a degree in civil engineering and proven experience of working in the road construction industry, you'll have a good understanding of Bitumen and PmB applications, and the ability to develop your own work programme based on the manager's outline.
You should be fluent in written and spoken Czech or Polish, and we'll also expect you to have a good understanding of English. Highly developed computer skills are essential, especially in Excel, PowerPoint and other Windows packages, and with a good commercial awareness, you'll be able to identify, develop and implement ideas and opportunities.
We'll expect you to build close working relationships with your colleagues and customers, and with this in mind you'll have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
