About the Job :
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
* The Postsales Engineer will work closely with Business Partners and End Users to resolve technical issues that have occurred at field installations.
* The assignment involves telephone, dial-in and email support of the company's security products.
* The Postsales Engineer, through the use of Six Sigma and Quality tools, will play an active and visible role on X-functional projects, aimed at improving the performance of core support processes
* The Engineer will work with a centralised Call Management database on a daily basis.
* There will be some opportunity for work at client sites in Europe and travel elsewhere throughout the world |

Profile of Ideal Candidate :
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Extensive knowledge and experience of problem solving in a range of Windows environments. Qualifications such as MCSE would be appropriate.
* Familiar with Network setup & administration, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls.
* Experience of Windows at a system engineering level
* Knowledge and experience of database administration; Oracle, Informix, SQL.
* Experience with Access Control and/or Intrusion systems would also be useful.
* Good knowledge of PC hardware
* An understanding of electronics - the basics of low-voltage systems, the effects of grounding and noise suppression measures.
* Theoretical and practical knowledge of modern digital CCTV products as used in the Security Industry.
* Preferably Green Belt certified
* An excellent command of written and spoken English is essential
* A high degree of initiative and willingness to take ownership of issues.
* Ability to learn and develop continuously as new products are introduced.
* Ability to work with competing demands in a small multi-discipline team.
* Sound documentation and communication skills in a client facing environment.
* Ability to travel within Europe for site based work
* Analytical mind. The ability to solve complex problems, based on a logical and inquisitive nature, with patience and persistence |
