Summary:

Successfully deliver the business-benefit aspect of Information Services projects. Manage technical and software engineering components of assigned projects, ensuring delivery of multiple projects within time and budget constraints. Create and guide project teams structure, plans and management-reporting mechanisms, integrating systems solutions to the company's environment.

Job Description / Requirements:

Ideally Prince 2 certifiedexperience in project management of large project in an international environmentfreight or transportation experience as an advantage Managing the conflicting demands of the various projects under their control, particularly where any project is a part of a larger programme Ensuring goals of their projects are in tune with the strategic aims of the company. Managing conflicts which arise on projects such as unclear of changing project direction, conflicting demands or overlapping responsibilities. Influencing others in a multi-disciplinary, dispersed organization, occasionally involving rejection of others work. To network effectively throughout the GIS organisation in order to resolve conflicting priorities and/or decisions. Interact with CoCs, representing the business needs of development projects. Steer development projects such that they satisfy business requirements in terms of functionality, quality, timeliness and budgets. Accountable for the quality and effectiveness of the deliverables and service provided via the project team. Ensures appropriate consultation, design and technology review/approval. Participation, in association with others as necessary, the recruitment, training and development of systems analysts, quality and test analysts, and other members of development teams. Depending upon conformance to test plans and results may approve of reject software changes prior to their incorporation and passage to the user acceptance test phase. Supports development project staff. Customers/users to understand and refine their requirements and convert them into project milestones and deliverables. GIS project teams participate in: project and design reviews; project resource estimating; post implementation audits; preparation and execution of user acceptance test plans; the definition and documentation of user procedures, manuals and training. Other GIS groups e.g. guidance to Business analysts on IT solutions and issues. External software and service suppliers (e.g. assess their ability to provide services or products).

Profile of Ideal Candidate :
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent. Seven years experience managing projects across departmental organizations preferred. Experience with standard personal computers and database systems. Project management certificate from a performance management institution. Successful experience leading a work group over an extended period in delivering a major milestone of a project. Management experience preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of business units functions, applications and system technology alternatives.
