The Technical Specialist Engineer (Tech Specialist) will provide specialist level technical expertise and consultation to other members of technical team, product, supplier management in terms of technology advancement, product positioning and supplier focus.
Technical Support:
Provide specialist level support to other members of the technical team
Provide technical leadership in the assigned technology segment to enable an advanced technical support infrastructure and execute the 2-tiered global technical support strategy
Global coordination of technical support infrastructure for Premier Farnell
Provide specialized technical assistance on specific technology area to customer inquires referred to by other level 1 tech support engineers and sales reps
Manage and monitor the performance of specific Demand Discovery Program for key suppliers
Provide consultation to Product Management, Supplier Management, Commercial Marketing and Sales Management about future technology trends, product poisoning and supplier focus by technology
Sales:
Support Call Centre & Branch Sales to provide technical consultation to customers for complex technical problems
Develop solutions based selling tools to field sales teams
Develop PF original application literature and technology marketing materials
Develop field technical training courses in the specific technology area
Effectively managing various processes associated with supporting the different sales channels

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

BEng / BSc related discipline.
Experience in appropriate field.
Appropriate design environment experience.
Recognised area of specialisation in a key EDE area.
Flexible and adaptable attitude.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong customer support orientation.
Self motivated and a team player.
Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
Willing to travel to visit customers and suppliers and for training
