The RoleThe RoleIndustry Type Petroleum / Oil & Gas Functional Area Installation / Maintenance / Repair Location of Job Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates Other Benefits Job Description/Responsibilities Basic Function: To carry out Condition Monitoring of the plant and off-site installed Rotating Equipment by On-line and Off-line Data acquisition techniques and data analysis. To maintain various Condition Monitoring Equipment and also the data in the Computerized system. To propose measures to improve reliability & availability of plant rotating equipment and minimize failures. Main Work Performed and Responsibilities: Carries out routine condition monitoring tasks on all the rotating equipments by data collection using advanced portable data collectors and other tools according to the established schedules and also as per the plant requirements. Carries out extensive analysis on the vibration & other data collected to diagnose / troubleshoot rotating machinery problems and recommend remedial measures. Reports any major changes in equipment condition to the condition monitoring engineer and maintain data in the computerized system and produces regular reports. Assists Condition Monitoring Engineer in technical reports preparation by providing all relevant vibration plots & process data. Archive the data for history and retrieval as and when required. Maintains equipment files that contain equipment datasheet, maintenance history etc. Maintains all condition monitoring tools / instruments as per the guidelines and also performs routine in-house checking. Maintains various softwares used in Off-line and On-line data collection and also responsible for reliability and availability of these systems. Building of condition monitoring database in the software, scheduling routes for new units / plants as situation arises. Performs work shop & field balancing of rotors. Responsible for maintenance of the workshop balancing machine. Assist in arranging for Lube oil analysis of critical rotating equipments and analyse / recommend remedial measures from the reports. Actively participates in Reliability improvement programmes and Root Cause Failure Analysis process of Rotating equipment as per requirements. Active participation and follow-up of rotating equipments overhaul and any other rotating equipment related activities. Also collects pertaining data. Proposes improvements to enhance the reliability / availability of rotating equipment. Trains the national trainees / technicians in Condition monitoring activities. Participates in plant turnaround activities as and when requested by the direct supervisor. Actively works in CMMS systems like SAP to get the equipment overhauls history, PM plans etc.. Performs the job as per company established HSE procedures / guidelines. Work Contacts: Interacts and contacts on daily basis with maintenance personnel ( Plant Availability) and Operations personnel to arrange for the data collection schedules, work permits, and other inspection / maintenance activities etc. Also maintains contact with planning personnel to necessitate the required jobs. Supervisory Responsibility: No Subordinates. However directs a team of technicians and trainees to perform Condition Monitoring or any other related activities as and when required. Independence of Operation and Decision making Authority: Independently carries out all Condition Monitoring activities for the assigned plant. Should also make recommendation decisions as situation demands. But, generally discusses the observations with condition monitoring engineer. Reports complex problems of the Rotating equipment to Condition Monitoring Engineer. Follows the policies and guidelines of the Plant Availability Division. Reports to Condition Monitoring Engineer. Performance is reviewed by Condition Monitoring Engineer. Minimum Requirements: Diploma or equivalent technical qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical or Instrumentation preferred). Undergone specialized training in vibration analysis and other Condition Monitoring Techniques, with a minimum of 6 years in the field of Condition Monitoring in the petrochemical / Refinery / Oil & Gas plants. Working experience of Bently Nevada / CSI / SKF / IRD PC based On-line & Off-line Condition Monitoring systems (Hardware & Software). Knowledge of high speed complex rotating equipment and their maintenance techniques, repairs, diagnostics and fault analysis. ( Multistage steam turbines, pumps, motors, gearboxes, turbo compressors, screw compressors, Extruders, Reciprocating Compressors ect). Knowledge of English. PC literate. Practical knowledge of CMMS systems like SAP. |
