The RoleThe RoleQualifications: Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer. Or In special circumstances, six years relevant working experience with either a Bachelors degree in Engineering (BEng) or Masters degree in Engineering (MEng) and working towards chartership. Job Purpose: Working on various projects within a multi-disciplinary Integrated Building Group, reporting to the head of Building Services. Key Responsibilities: Act as Job Leader and (in some circumstances) Project Leader Operate and competently work on an independent basis Manage single or multi-disciplinary projects Communicate directly with Clients Prepare technical and financial proposals for new work Plan and monitor job resourcing/expenditure and adjust as necessary Manage workload of Project Discipline Engineers and Technicians. Prepare and take responsibility for concept and preliminary engineering solutions for detail design Prepare Technical Specifications Check/verify other team members work Monitor financial performance of jobs Be alive to new project opportunities Set up and manage job/project administrative systems. Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the client are achieved. Ensuring all relevant staff are informed of client matters. Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client’s best interests and that the companys policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice etc. Commitment to CPD and self learning / development Current projects within the Group include: Al Faisal University – 212,000 m2 new university in Riyadh, KSA Ras Al Khaimah New Administration offices – 80,000 m2 office building in UAE Nofa Lodges/Nofa Farm – extensive development in Saudi Arabia of over 200 buildings on approximately 280,000 hectares including a grandstand, 2400m race track, African ‘game park’ with African style bush resort, stabling for 600 horses, etc. Mahmood Saeed Plaza – strengthening and conversion of a 80,000 m2 mixed use development in Jeddah, KSA Various other projects ranging from advice to the Irish Embassy in Riyadh on a new watertank to value engineering re-designs of a 498m tall Hotel tower in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. RequirementsRequirementsDegree educated Excellent knowledge of M&E building services design Minimujm of 8-10 years experience. Person Specification: This client is a multidisciplinary practice that succeeds through the individual and collaborative skills of its people. This post requires a candidate who must have: Corporate membership of a relevant institution, good IT skills, good communication skills, experience in dealing with other employees and external clients, being confident, proactive character with a track record of taking the lead in challenging situations, ability to run projects successfully. |
