The RoleThe RoleSummary: Project Leader is responsible for the planning, co-ordination, communication and operational delivery of projects within the European Data Centre. These projects consist of implementing applications for the customers of the European Data Centre and a number of internal projects focussed at improving the systems and processes of GIS, in general, and the European Data Centre in particular. Job Description / Requirements: Defines, documents and executes small, medium or large scale projects, actively participating in all phases of the project. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project Estimates costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful completion of each project to agreed terms of reference Prepares and maintains project and quality plans and tracks activities against the plan, providing regular and accurate reports to IS and client management as appropriate Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances. Manages the change control procedure gaining agreement for revisions to the project from project sponsors Works with clients/users to investigate operational requirements and problems Applies available standards, methods and tools in an intelligent and effective way, and produces a consistently high standard of documentation of both a technical and a descriptive nature Arranges, prepares and conducts meetings, workshops and presentations for a wide variety of audiences, demonstrating consistently high qualities of communication and persuasive skills |
