Key Activities


As a member of the Feasibility Studies and Site Development team you will be involved in the development of new nuclear, renewable and fossil powered projects, along with the modification and up grading of existing power generation assets throughout Europe.

The remit of the team includes aspects of site selection, technology selection, plant layouts, market analysis and project evaluation, vendor evaluation, enquiry specifications, assessment of tenders and technical negotiation of contracts.
It requires co-ordination of inputs from specialists within E.ON Engineering and selection and management of external consultants.

The range of technologies requires flexibility in approach and a willingness to adapt quickly to new areas of work. It also involves provision of project development, project management and implementation support for research and development projects.

The post holder will primarily support the development of new nuclear projects within the UK, which will involve working with nuclear specialists within E.ON and selecting and managing external consultants, but may also be involved in other project development activities.

In supporting the nuclear program, the post holder would be expected to actively pursue solutions to site development challenges, provide specialist support on the implications for siting nuclear technology, and provide input to project planning.

Key skill requirements


The successful candidate will be a Chartered engineer, or working towards it, with a thorough understanding of power plant and infrastructure development gained from direct experience in power generation or similar multi-disciplined project engineering.

Experience working on civilian nuclear projects, which could include construction, maintenance and operation or decommissioning of power generation facilities will be considered beneficial.

Applicants will have strong interpersonal skills as the role will involve building and maintaining excellent relationships both internally and externally.

Due to the nature of the role, candidates should hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel for short periods within the UK and abroad.
