The RoleThe Role• To effectively manage the procurement function to improve efficiency of the system and reduce cost. • Identify potential for cost savings and establish reductions in material spend by reviewing of Weir purchasing systems and identifying areas of improvement • Develop framework for agreement negotiations with suppliers. Make agreements in a way to reduce administration costs. • Carry out analyses of Weir purchase orders, validate data and send a report to management • Liaise with Operations Manager and finance manager to discuss and agree on related proposals • Liaise with all major suppliers on an ongoing basis to set up standard agreements • Produce monthly reports detailing key events and status of progress towards achieving targets including a list of ongoing savings • Develop a procurement policy and operating system for the department • Establish KPIs for the department and other departments • Conduct all work with due consideration to health, safety and environmental issues and with due regard to quality and commercial procedures |
RequirementsRequirementsA bachelor degree preferrably in mechanical engineer Min 5-6 years of procurement experience Sound technical background of pumps and applications Strong negotiation skills Effective communication skills Self starter with ability to make decisions |
